Function Diagnostic

The Function Diagnostic uses a structured process to map the functions of your processes, product or products. The final output is a Function Analysis tree or structured list, which can then be used to foster creativity, design processes, prompt agent design or select optimal solutions.

How it works

  • Analyse one or more subjects, depending on complexity.
  • Participants independently provide an initial brainstorm of functions using our online tool.
  • One-to-one sessions with all participants to develop a deeper understanding.
  • Based on our engagements with individuals, we create a draft function tree or list.
  • A facilitated workshop challenges and refines the analysis, surfacing gaps, boundaries and misalignment, arriving at a finalised tree or list.

  • A validated function tree or list of the subjects under review.
  • Notes, including a succinct process and workshop report.
  • Where applicable, an AI-assessed function-to-solution recommendation with reliability ratings.

Disruption Futures Workshop

Create readiness and preparedness for what is to come. The Disruption Futures Workshop maps what could disrupt, or open up, each part of your business across your chosen time frame, giving equal weight to opportunity and to threat: what could break, and what you could build.

How it works

  • Start with three horizons. Working with you, we create three scenarios for change: for example, six months, one year and two years.
  • Create the mapping matrix. Down one axis, what matters to your business: processes, products, markets and strategies. Across the top, the forces and technologies that could change them. One for each time horizon.
  • Workshop one. An end-to-end consideration of each scenario, identifying and confirming the context and what matters in each time horizon. At the end, a draft disruption strategy document is produced.
  • Reflection and research. A two-week period in which attendees reflect on the first workshop and undertake identified actions. We work with you on research and strategy, and hold one-to-one sessions with participants.
  • Workshop two. Review of the draft disruption response strategy to create the finalised product, including forward actions.
